About Us
Our Story: Around The Shared Table
The Shared Table is an all-women NPO built on a foundation of intergenerational wisdom and shared resilience. We are a collective of different ages and backgrounds, brought together by a shared passion for community, craftsmanship, and holistic care.
This intergenerational bridge allows us to mentor learners and support our community through a lens of deep lived experience. Whether we are teaching a new skill or providing a hot meal, we foster a supportive, grounded, and empowering environment around every table we set.
The 4 Pillars of Our Work
The Shared Table exists to create practical, dignified pathways for care, learning, and opportunity. Our work is focused on four core pillars:
-
Dignified Breast Cancer Support
We craft special care packs for breast cancer patients. These feature beautiful, locally made bags filled with essential necessities to offer comfort and solidarity on their healing journey.
-
Education & Skills Development
We drive school craft and skills projects that invest in the next generation, providing vital tools and training for lifelong, sustainable learning.
-
Food Security
We support a dedicated feeding scheme in Phesantekraal because we believe nutrition is a basic human right. This helps build a foundation for a thriving community.
-
Economic Empowerment
We run an e-commerce platform that gives locally produced goods access to a wider market. This creates a sustainable cycle of growth for local creators.
Join Us at the Table

Together, we are building a future where every individual can flourish. Through every meal, care pack, craft session, and locally produced product, we help communities access the resources, skills, and support they need to thrive.
We warmly welcome partners, donors, and community collaborators who believe in the power of sustainable skills, creativity, and compassionate action.
