Women’s Month: Spoiling Our Community Heroes

Turning the Tables for Women’s Month

The community feeding schemes in Phesantekraal and Uitsig are kept alive by the tireless, loving hands of a remarkable group of local women. These heroes spend their time making sure their communities are nourished and cared for.

This Women’s Month, The Shared Table team wanted to turn the tables. For just one morning, we ensured they weren't the ones serving, but the ones completely showered in love, care, and deep appreciation. We treated them to a beautiful breakfast morning where they didn’t have to lift a finger.

A Community Effort

While we hosted the breakfast, we were absolutely overwhelmed by the local brands who stepped up to ensure these ladies left feeling like royalty:

  • Mugg & Bean: Generously treated everyone to full breakfast meals, free juices, and sweet treats on the house.

  • Sorbet: Blown us away by gifting a premium R500 voucher to every single lady for a rare moment of pure pampering.

  • Prime Chemicals: Sponsoring beautifully packed goodie bags full of everyday essentials.

  • African Extracts Rooibos: Gifting refreshing micellar water skincare products for their well-deserved self-care days.
  • The Big Issue Magazine: Sharing their latest inspiring issue with each attendee.

To the phenomenal women of Phesantekraal and Uitsig: You are seen, you are valued, and you are the heartbeat of our communities. Thank you for everything you do!
